You can find and download information about school examinations, public examinations and timetables here.
The key dates for the summer 2019 exam are displayed below and holidays should NOT be booked during this time. Exam dates cannot be changed to suit individuals or the school for any reason. The dates below specify when the first exam is in 2019 and when the final GCSE and A Level exams are, but this does not include classroom-based assessments which will take place throughout the school year (where applicable to the qualification). Please ensure you are aware of the timings of these classroom-based assessments as these may contribute towards the final grade
Other non-timetabled components i.e. practical elements, controlled assessments and coursework may also take place during the year on dates agreed by the subject departments and external examiners.
13th May 2019 – first date of the GCSE/A-Level Summer exam series (Written exams)
25th June 2019 – proposed last A-Level exam date (but changes of dates may result in exams being scheduled up to and including 26th June 2019).
It is essential that no absence is planned up to and including 26th June 2019 in case of any final changes.
Up to 26th June 2019 – contingency dates – reserved by the exam boards for use at their discretion in the case of sustained local or national disruption.
Any absence or late arrival may result in NO GRADE being awarded by the exam board and parents may be charged the entry fee. It is not possible for an absent student to sit an exam at a different time or the following day; this is not permitted by the exam boards. Students must provide a doctor’s note (or equivalent professional evidence) if any examination absence is absolutely unavoidable and they are deemed medically unfit to sit the examination.
Individual exam timetables for Summer 2019 will be available for students to view on Cedar from February half term when the entries have been submitted. Students should regularly check their timetables. Any exam clashes (where two or more exams are scheduled at the same time) will be resolved by the end of April. If students have not heard from the Exams Team before the end of April, they should visit the Exams Office (LAC3 – Pontefract) or (Room 2.20 Doncaster). Cedar Exam Timetable will also eventually show the venue and seat number, but again this should be checked on a daily basis during the exam period for any changes.
Certificates for the 2017-2018 academic year can now be collected.
Leavers can obtain these from main College reception, and continuing students from the Pontefract Exams Office (LAC3) or the main reception for Doncaster students.. If the student named on the certificates cannot collect them personally, please email email@example.com stating details of the certificates to be collected, naming the person authorised to collect, and the authorised person must bring their own photo ID when collecting.
It is vitally important to keep your certificates safe once collected. Uncollected certificates from previous years may not be held by the school as we are required by the regulations to retain them only for a period of 12 months. Please contact us first to check if we have them in storage – firstname.lastname@example.org. If we do not have them, or they have been lost, you would have to contact each exam board individually. There will be a charge for this from the exam board and we are unable to do this on your behalf.
