Former NEW College student Jamie Long has won the National Tailoring and Design Awards, and a placement with Cad & The Dandy London, the prestigious Savile Row tailors.
The talented designer, who lives in Wakefield, beat off 18 other finalists to win the title with his prohibition theme collection of jackets designs based on public architecture.
Jamie, who is in his second year currently studying a BA (hons) at Huddersfield University, will be visiting the sixth form to talk to current students and share his experiences.
Jamie said: “”NEW College’s Art department is an amazing platform and builds you up for a degree level course perfectly. I’ve had so much success within my degree entering several competitions and I wouldn’t have had the confidence without NEW College.”
