Becky is a senior leader in education, with over 25 years’ experience across the Early Years sector. Her career spans roles in mainstream schools, specialist provision, Local Authority advisory services, and the Department for Education. She has significant governance experience at both local and national levels, including serving as a Trustee of Early Education (the British Association for Early Childhood Education), where she held the position of Chair of the Board for three years. Becky is an alumna of NEW College Pontefract and maintains a strong personal connection to the institution. Her eldest daughter attended the college before progressing to study medicine, her middle son is currently a student here and her youngest son aspires to attend in the future. She is passionate about supporting the college’s mission to positively transform the lives of young people and is committed to contributing to social mobility and wider societal impact.

Karen is a Chartered member of the CIPD with over 30 years’ experience in Human Resources and Organisational Development; her mission is to ensure everyone has the opportunity to thrive in their workplace and believes post-16 education is key to this. She has held a number of senior Human Resources positions across the public sector. Karen has also held a range of voluntary and elected roles including Chair of Governors. Outside work her interests centre around her family, she enjoys walking, cycling and anything outdoors!

Russell has extensive Governorship and Trustee experience. He was the lead on a programme, ‘Leader of Local Governance’. He has been involved with the DFE in many areas such as the consultation towards to moving to a National Funding Formula and I have presented the implications of this to other local governing associations.

I have over a decade of experience within the Higher Education whilst being passionate about supporting young people, and I am incredibly excited to be involved with the advisory group for New College Pontefract by supporting in their overall aims and objectives.
