Student Adam Lofthouse has been shortlisted for the WDH Love Where You Live awards in the Young Achiever category.
Over a two month period Adam encouraged more than 1000 young people to support the democratic process in a campaign to determine the five topics to be debated by UK Youth Parliament members at the Make Your Mark event at the House of Commons in November. Along with fellow NEW College students and Members of Youth Parliament, Simran Jandu and Pegah Moulana, Adam is heading to the House of Commons, representing the Wakefield area.
Adam’s hard work and effort has led to every school in the Wakefield area being able to vote and share their opinion on what matters to them. If he wins the Young Achiever award, he will receive £500 to donate to a community group of his choice thanks to Wolseley Integrated Services.
