NEW College Performing Arts students are commemorating the beginning of World War 1 with an evening of music, dance and drama.
Your Country Needs You is a one-off performance that marks a century since the outbreak of the Great War. Head of Performing Arts Phil Stokes said: ‘This is a production that has allowed our student to understand this terrible event and also pay tribute to the many soldiers who gave their lives.’
The production features dramatic sketches and contemporary dance, along with period music and poetry, creating a sensitive and thoughtful look at the era. All proceeds from the event will be given to Help The Heroes.
Phil added: ‘After all their research, the students decided it would be fitting that all the money from sales went to this worthy organisation.’ Your Country Needs You takes place on Tuesday 21st October 7.00pm at The John Godber Theatre, NEW College Pontefract.
