Help for Heroes were given a cash boost after students at NEW College raised £150 playing a 5-a-side tournament last month.
The event, which took place at the A1 Football Factory in Pontefract, marked the centenary of the WWI truce where both sides stopped fighting and paused to play football.
Seventy-five students took part and the winners were Prostar FC.
James Morris, NEW College Sports and Public Services Teacher, said: “They all played really well and I am incredibly proud of the students’ efforts. The money they raised goes to such a good cause. This is something we hope to continue to be part of in the future.”
