Developing strong links with the wider community helps New College students grow into mature young adults. Students and staff contributed a range of items to a gift drive, which members of the Student Executive at New College Pontefract then delivered to Pinderfields Hospital Children’s Ward in Wakefield.
As part of the group’s charity fundraising events, members of the college were asked to donate gifts that could be then given to children who would be spending Christmas in the hospital. Organiser Jack Berry said, “We received over 70 gifts. All the hard work put into making this happen paid off when we saw the children smile.”
Gareth Dodson, Marketing Manager at New College Pontefract, said, “The Student Executive group have worked incredibly hard with their fundraising activities over the last couple of months. The generosity shown by students and staff has been wonderful and really shows the community spirit that exists here at the college.”
