Following on from the success of winning “Sixth Form College of the Year” and “Overall FE Provider of the Year” at last year’s awards, New College Pontefract has once again been shortlisted for a TES award, this time for its outstanding GCSE English results. The “Outstanding GCSE resits provision” shortlisting reflects the sustained efforts of the English team to secure a pass for as many students as possible.
New College Principal, Vicky Marks, said: “This is another wonderful opportunity to celebrate the success of the New College team. Our staff work tirelessly at securing the best possible outcomes for our students, and for some, that elusive GCSE English or Maths pass means the difference between going to university or not. We’re delighted the English team have been shortlisted for this award.”
TES head of FE, Julia Belgutay said: “Further education providers have excelled in what has been a truly challenging year, and the amazing individuals, teams and institutions on our TES FE Awards shortlist showcase that. Our judges were highly impressed with the calibre of entries and I want to congratulate everyone who has made the shortlist – it is a brilliant achievement”
Winners for this award will be announced at an online ceremony on Friday 28 May 2021.
