On Monday 4/10/21 and Friday 8/10/21 between 10am and 2pm there will be an NHS vaccination team at New College Pontefract. They will be offering COVID-19 vaccinations to staff and students who are not yet fully vaccinated (second vaccinations will only be given to individuals 8 weeks after their first vaccination).
A team of NHS nurses and clinical leads will be responsible for gaining consent and delivering the vaccination. In the UK individuals aged 16 or over are able to provide consent for medical treatments as long as they are able to make an informed choice about the treatment they will receive. If parents/carers are concerned that their child has a condition that makes them unable to properly consent to vaccination could you contact the college at COVID@nclt.ac.uk. This will allow any concerns you have to be addressed by the senior members of trust staff overseeing the vaccination process in advance of the NHS vaccination team arriving on site.
Given the strong feelings shared by some members of the college community, we wish to make it clear that the choice to receive a COVID-19 vaccine is entirely up to the individuals involved, based on them considering the risks and benefits for themselves and making an informed decision. Whether students choose to get vaccinated or not, the continued commitment to providing the best possible education and opportunities to all students who attend New College Pontefract is not affected.

This form is not related to consent and does not commit you to receiving the vaccine. It is only to allow the NHS vaccination team to ensure they have enough vaccine on site to meet demand. If you are interested in receiving the vaccination please complete before 2.30 pm on Friday 24/9/21, this is to allow the vaccination team to properly plan for the number who will attend for vaccination. If you miss this deadline it will still be possible to get a vaccination but it may mean there will be some delays.
