New Collaborative Learning Trust retains the Leaders In Diversity Award

New Collaborative Learning Trust, the Trust behind a chain of highly successful sixth form colleges and a secondary academy, has once again been given national recognition for its work in equality, diversity and inclusion, one of a limited number of organisations across the country to achieve this award.

NCLT’s retention of the award follows an extensive assessment of the entire Trust, involving a survey of staff members and an in-depth inspection, including detailed interviews with staff and students from across the Trust.

Lauren Walker, NCLT’s Director of Human Resources, said: “We are delighted to once again retain the prestigious Leaders in Diversity award.  This is testament to the commitment of all NCLT staff and students in creating and sustaining an environment and culture where equality, diversity, inclusion and fairness are genuinely at the heart.”

Solat Chaudhry, Chief Executive of the National Centre for Diversity, commented “We are delighted that New Collaborative Learning Trust have retained the Leaders in Diversity Award, and I would like to extend our congratulations to their leaders, staff and learners on their success to date.”

Maintaining the Leaders in Diversity standard demonstrates that NCLT has committed to building a culture of fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion and engagement (FREDIE), it also shows that it can evidence this in a practical way.

“By engaging wholeheartedly with the Leaders in Diversity programme,” added Solat, “they have demonstrated a real and tangible commitment to Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement (FREDIE) and to continuous improvement in this area.”

The award reflects not only the commitment of the Trust’s leadership but also of the entire staff and student community to these values of equality and fairness.
