NEW College Pontefract student, Samantha Watts has been selected to play for the Yorkshire and Humber Woman’s Rugby Union Squad after a series of intense fitness trials.
Samantha, who studies PE, Media, Business and BTEC Applied Science at the sixth form college, will play with the squad in Bath at the 36th National Championship Finals in April.
Speaking of her success, Samantha said: “Andy Green, our sports coach, approached me about the trials and asked if I would be interested in attending. I’ve mainly played League before rather than Union, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But Andy was so supportive of me, and then I made the team. I’m really excited!”
