NEW College and Wakefield College competed in a number of events this week for Varsity 2014. It was a festival of sports and activities which included athletics, netball, football, swimming, rugby, debating and many more.
The events took place at both colleges and across the Wakefield area. Varsity 2014 came to a close at Sandal Rugby Club with a Battle of the Bands, followed by the men’s and women’s rugby matches, which NEW College won. The final scores for the whole event tallied up to an impressive 18 ½ – 3 ½ and gave NEW College their fourth Varsity win in a row.
Coaches from NEW College said of the event: “A brilliant end to a fantastic season. Coaching this group of players has been an honour and a pleasure.”
