Music students at NEW College, Pontefract, showcased an array of musical talent at Wakefield Cathedral this week.
Fourteen students took part in the lunchtime concert on Tuesday 10th February, in front of an audience of over 200 people. The performance included original compositions, solo pieces, a pianist and a vocal group finale.
The students will be performing again at the Cathedral on the March 17th at 1pm.
Michelle Colvill, NEW College Head of Music, said: “I am very proud of the talented and committed students we have at college. We applied to take part in the concerts a year in advance and it was well worth it. The students were incredible. One of our students even wrote his own composition on the piano.”
She added: “The feedback we received from the audience was fantastic. Many of them commented on how professional the students were and how high the quality was. We can’t wait to do it again next month.”
