New College Pontefract hosted a taster day for prospective HNC Sports Science students this month.
Fifteen students took part in the day, experiencing what it is like to study beyond level 3 at the outstanding sixth form. Led by course leaders Hanna Storey and Andy Petch, the day provided an informative outline of the course and got the students testing each other, using state-of-the-art sports science equipment.
The day was also supported by current HNC students, delivering a massage therapy technique workshop. The prospective students were able to mingle with current HNC students and ask questions about the course.
Current HNC student Naomi Tredgold, said: “I love it, I took a gap year to wait for Hanna and Andy to set up the course. They help you like no other lecturers would, they’re your friend but your tutor at the same time. The atmosphere is brilliant. I wouldn’t want to study anywhere else.”
If you are undecided about your future or you just haven’t found the right sport/exercise or health course for you contact Hanna Storey or Andy Petch.
