Students, staff and governors are proud and delighted with this year’s exam results, which have exceeded the outstanding performance achieved of previous years. Our A-Level students of 2018 achieved an overall pass rate of 100%, an A*-B rate of 55.2% and an A*-C rate of 82%, which conforms the college’s reputation as a consistently high performing sixth form provider both locally and nationally. This is matched by the equally strong performance of our Level 3 BTEC students who achieved an overall pass rate of 100% with 91% achieving a Distinction or Distinction* grade.
New College Pontefract Principal, Richard Fletcher said, “Once again I am extremely proud of our students’ achievements this year, particularly given the national changes to A-Level qualifications in recent years. These results not only represent the culmination of two years’ dedicated study, they also enable our talented students to progress to the best universities and on to fulfilling careers.
New College Pontefract is part of the New Collaborative Learning Trust (NCLT), and the Trust’s CEO, Pauline Hagen OBE said, “Well done to students and to their first class teachers who have supported them in their learning journey. Today is very much about our students who we congratulate warmly and wish them the very best of luck.”
